Startup Acceleration

The Crews Center for Entrepreneurship offers a startup acceleration program for selected startup teams. The Crews Startup Accelerator help startup teams by providing:

  • Structured entrepreneurship training
  • Mentorship
  • Coaching with resident entrepreneur
  • Dedicated office space
  • Prototype Lab

Startups that wish to apply to the Crews Startup Accelerator must meet the following minimum criteria:

  • UofM students must hold a majority ownership (50.5%+) in the startup
  • Minimum student GPA of 3.0
  • Startup team must consist of students from at least two different majors
  • Startup concept must be a highly scalable business model (not a lifestyle business)

Preferred criteria that increase chance of acceptance:

  • Students have actively been involved in Crews Center programming
  • Startup team already has a high-profile mentor/advisor

To maintain status as part of the Crews Accelerator, students must meet the following requirements:

  • Maintain 3.0 GPA
  • Continue making significant progress toward graduation
  • A minimum of 10 hours per week must be spent in the Crews Center
  • A minimum of 6 hours of this time must be dedicated to working on the student's business
  • Attend 90% of the Crews Startup Accelerator Program workshops and events
  • Keep dedicated workspace in a presentable condition
