Finch Gym Rules

The Larry O. Finch gym is considered a men's basketball practice facility and used for the UM basketball programs, campus recreation, and intramural programs. The Larry O. Finch gymnasium was constructed with student activities fees and is managed through Campus Recreation Intramural Services (CRIS). No unsupervised or non co-sponsored activities are permitted in the Finch gym. All activities must be approved through CRIS Scheduling Office and reviewed by Athletic Office and/or Office of Public Services.

CRIS user fees apply for sponsored community activities. All space requests (Form A or D) for the Finch gym must be sponsored by CRIS or men's basketball. All space request must reflect co-sponsors name and signatures on all paper work in order to hold space. Space can be reserved with a minimum of 10 participants. A representative of the co-sponsorship (CRIS or Men's Basketball program) will be present and responsible at the program and must make all arrangements with the CRIS Scheduling Office. This in line with University Procedure 2A0403.

Reservation Procedure:

1. Reservations for athletic basketball sponsored community activities must turn in a ‘Form A’, University of Memphis Application for Use of Facilities. Co-sponsored community events using the Finch Gym may include: camps, dinners, clubs, concerts, practices, conferences, lectures, special guests and booster meetings.

The ‘Form A’ is available in the CRIS Scheduling Office, room 100E, or Office of Public Service and turn in directly to the Office of Public Service. Facility rental charges are determined by the Office of Public Service. There is a CRIS user fee charge of $5.00 each for non University of Memphis student participants for any activity held in the Finch gym. Special discounts may apply according to the men's basketball coach's contract agreement. There is no rental charge for facilities or CRIS user fee charges for approved UM student groups.

2. A Campus Recreation Intramural Services space reservation form, ‘Form D, is required for approved UM groups to reserve the Finch gym. These activities will be coordinated with the CRIS Scheduling Office and men's basketball. Activities may include UM: team practices, intramural activities and CRIS student club sports. There is a CRIS user fee charge of $5.00 each for non University of Memphis student participants for any activity held in the SRFC. There is no rental charge for facilities or CRIS user fee charges for approved UM student groups.
