2013 Spring Research Training Sessions
Grant Collaboration Through CRISTAL

Location - UC 261, Senate Chamber
CRISTAL staff members will present opportunities to develop corporate community and
K-12 partnerships in STEM grant procurement. Topics will include opportunities for
research and how to become involved. Presenters: Dr. Peter Bridson, Dr. Stephanie
Ivey, Dr. Judy Faris, and Dr. Cathy Wilson.

Memphis STEM Leadership Academy
The Memphis STEM Leadership Academy is a one-day, high-energy STEM Leadership Academy
for educators in the West TN STEM Collaboratory Hub region. The program will include
innovative practices, communication technologies, and pedagogical approaches to expand
active STEM learning environments. The Academy will facilitate the dissemination of
best practices from STEM platform schools, the West TN STEM Collaboratory Hub, and
the TN STEM Innovation Network (TSIN). Tennessee EPSCoR sponsors this program, in
cooperation with the West TN STEM Collaboratory Hub and TN STEM Leadership Academy
at ORAU.
Who: Educators in the West TN STEM Collaboratory Hub region
When: Monday, Feb. 18, 2013 from 8:00-3:30. Lunch and breaks will be provided
Where: The University Center (UC) at The University of Memphis
Benefits: Inservice credit, STEM hands-on tools with lesson plans for different grade bands,
hands-on experience with different STEM tools
