Posted on 2017-03-02

Prof. Dipankar Dasgupta, director of the Center for Information Assurance, and undergraduate student Berkeley Willis were featured on WMC Action News 5 to talk about our recent strong showing in the 2016 NSA Codebreaker Challenge.

NSA Codebreaker Challenge

Last year, a team of U of M graduate and undergraduate students placed 11th nationwide in the challenge, competing against more than 200 schools. Participants had to use their reverse-engineering / low-level code analysis skills to solve six progressively more difficult challenges in a limited amount of time.  The U of M team successfully solved five of these six challenges, leaving behind some top-tier schools.  Complete results for the 2016 NSA Codebreaker Challenge are available at https://codebreaker.ltsnet.net/leaderboard.
