The Student Health and Counseling Services department, made up of the Counseling Center,
the Student Health Center and the Testing Center, is a comprehensive student development
agency committed to providing a seamless set of services to assist students in actualizing
their maximum potential.
Our Counseling staff offers a wide variety of services: individual, couples, family
and group counseling, individualized career exploration and planning, topical workshops
and outreach programming for faculty, classes, and campus organizations. Offices are
located in WT 211 and WT 214.
The mission of the University of Memphis Student Health Center (SHS) is: to empower
students to make informed healthy choices and to take responsibility for a goal of
lifelong wellness; to provide personalized health services, education and disease
prevention to a diverse student population; and to enhance academic achievement,
personal growth, and out of the classroom learning.
Our Testing Center Main Office is in the John W. Brister Building in Room 112. In
addition to the U of M Prometric Center, accessing several thousand computer-based
tests, the Testing Center assists in a full range of student assessment needs.
