Faculty and Staff Giving

The Faculty and Staff Campaign to Empower the Dream:
September 10 through October 5, 2012

Congratulations!

Thanks to your good work, more than 1,100 gifts have been received in the past year for the faculty and staff portion of the Empowering the Dream Centennial Campaign. This represents a 45% participation rate, up from 25% a year ago. With an additional 132 donations, we can reach our campaign goal of 50% participation from our faculty and staff!

Brenda Butler in the Bursar's Office submitted the following description of why she is  Empowering the Dream:

I believe in empowering the dream to fulfill the aspirations and gifts of our future leaders, our students, who are the torchbearers of tomorrow. Everyone deserves an opportunity to make a contribution to this marvelous world. Where better than the University of Memphis, whose strong capacity to be all inclusive is the best place for them to establish their leadership foundation.

Peggy Ball in Residence Life, writes about "Why I Empower the Dream". Peggy won last year's drawing for a Luxury Suite in Liberty Bowl Stadium. She won by submitting the following description of why she is Empowering the Dream:

The University of Memphis allowed me to follow my career dreams in Accounting. I love having the opportunity to share my experience with others as I have traveled the country and met many different people. I have such fond memories of my professors, administrators and fellow students. I have been fortunate enough to encourage my sister to follow my footsteps and now her son is a current student here at the University. We love the connection the University experience gives us. Just another layer to our family conversations.

Every member of the faculty and staff is important to the success of the University of Memphis. As a campus community, we work together daily to empower the dreams of our students. There is an additional way we can contribute toward their success and make a lasting impact on our University. By adding “Donor” to your title, you demonstrate your belief in our mission and your commitment to secure our future as a leading metropolitan research university.

Should you already carry the title of "Donor," thank you for your continued support! Please know that your participation has made the University of Memphis what it is today and will indeed make a lasting impact on the future of our great university.

The Empowering the Dream Campaign is of crucial importance to not only our University, but to our entire region. Therefore, it is essential that each of us take great pride and ownership in its success.

Why Every Gift Matters

Every gift counts – no matter the size. Many donors to the University ask about participation from faculty and staff. Your gift instills confidence that the University of Memphis is worthy of support.

There are many ways to participate. From small gifts through payroll deduction, to one-time gifts, to bequests, every dollar counts! Please consider a gift at any level to the Empowering the Dream Campaign.
