Riviera R. Hollowell is an Account Clerk II in the Bursar's Office within Business
and Finance Division. She has been a University of Memphis employee since October
of 2005, and annually gives through the payroll deduction program.
In her own words, Riviera describes why she is Empowering the Dream:
The University of Memphis offers an opportunity for us to contribute to the more than
23,000 member student body by way of payroll deduction. Giving to the U of M has numerous
benefits such as allowing us to look beyond our own personal problems and to focus
on the needs of others. It also affords us an opportunity to be pro-active with our
investments by contributing to the education of our students, the future generations
the leading change agents for our society. And when we lead by example through our
own giving, the recipients of our giving are challenged to repeat that same positive
behavior in their lives.
By giving through payroll deduction, you can become an intricate and essential supporter
of our university and be confident that your contribution is made in a timely and
secure manner. By giving through payroll deduction, you in fact become a change agent
in society because you are directly affecting the lives of others, and will have a
log-lasting effect within the U of M family. Your contribution will be greatly appreciated
and make a difference. Collectively, we can ensure that affordable higher education
is a reality and within reach of all who choose to pursue it.
I challenge each and every one of you to join me as a Giver to our U of M. Let us
together play a role in changing and improving the lives of our future leaders. Your
gift will serve as a true blessing to many. And don't worry about the amount of your
donation because every dollar helps. Remember, giving to help others is a round-trip
ticket that will pay dividends to you and yours. I encourage you to make a commitment
to contribute to the University of Memphis through payroll deduction.
