High school students may also take college courses on the main campus (or U of M satellite
campuses) through our "concurrent enrollment" program. The requirements for this option
are more selective than the high school based program and the institutional grant
is not available. However, students may apply their Tennessee Lottery Dual Enrollment
Grant toward the fees for these classes. Please refer to the requirements listed below
for the "concurrent admission" option.
Outstanding high school students who have completed the sophomore year may be admitted
and register for one college course per term of enrollment concurrently provided they
supply evidence of the following:

A minimum high school cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.20 on a 4.00 scale. |
| 2. |
An ACT composite score of 22 or above |
| 3. |
A recommendation from the applicant's high school principal or guidance counselor. |
| 4. |
The course concurrently enrolled students register for must be taken outside of their
established school day.

| NOTE: Departments may establish additional criteria for their courses.

| NOTE: NEW - Students who have previously used the Dual Enrollment Grant at other institutions
must have an official copy of their transcript/s sent to the Office of Admissions
in order to verify their continued eligibility.
