High School Based

The high school based dual enrollment program offers general education college courses at several area high schools. Course fees are substantially reduced for the high school based program and students may be eligible for a lottery funded grant.

Admission Requirements to the High School Based Dual Enrollment Program

Admission requirements for the special high school based program are as follows:

  • 19 composite score on the ACT
  • 18 English sub-score for students taking English Composition
  • 19 math sub-score for students taking college math
  • 100 admissions index score: 30 times the high school GPA (based on a 4.0 scale) plus the composite ACT score

             Example: High School GPA of a 2.85 X 30 = 85.5 + 19 = 104.5

Admission Application

  • Application fee is waived for students in the high school based program.
  • Students who live with legal guardians other than parent(s) must supply court documentation reflecting this status for residency determination.
  • Students who are on visas are considered non-residents for fee paying purposes.
  • Students who are permanent residents must supply a copy of their PR documentation.

Dual Enrollment Grant Application

  • Students must apply online for the Dual Enrollment Grant before the stated deadline. There are no exceptions.
  • Students must select the University of Memphis as the school to receive their grant funds in order to have the grant apply toward the fees for the dual enrollment course they are taking at the University of Memphis.
  • Students must apply for the correct term. They will need to apply each term they plan to enroll in the Dual Enrollment Program.
  • Students who have previously used the Dual Enrollment Grant at other institutions must have an official copy of their transcript/s sent to the Office of Admissions in order to verify their continued eligibility.
