Ready to get started with eCampus at the University of Memphis?

The enrollment process for online students is identical to that of on-campus students. Just follow these steps:

  • Complete and submit an application for admission.
  • Once your application is submitted, please contact your high school (and any previous colleges you may have attended) to request official copies of your transcripts.  Ask the institution to send your transcripts to:

    Office of Admissions
    101 John Wilder Tower
    The University of Memphis
    Memphis, TN  38152

The Admissions Office will notify you within two weeks of receiving your application.

  • Apply for financial aid as soon as possible!  It is a lengthy approval process.

  • Out-of-state students enrolled in a UM Online degree program are eligible for out-of-state fee scholarship. This means that you will pay the same tuition as an in-state student.  You must complete our Out-Of-State Scholarship Request form to apply, and you must apply every semester for the scholarship.

  • After you've been admitted, meet with your academic advisor. Undecided majors should contact the Academic Counseling Center. Decided majors contact your chosen academic department.

  • *Register for your classes via the "Student" tab in the myMemphis portal system.  A registration guide will be mailed to you with your acceptance letter from the Admissions office.

  • Be sure to pay your fees.  In the myMemphis portal system, check your Account$ tab frequently for balances due or messages from the bursar regarding your account.

*Students who are admitted to the University of Memphis may not register to audit RODP online courses.

Your time, your place, your university . . .

Online programs provide flexibility and portability so you can succeed at earning a degree in spite of family commitments, erratic work schedules, or limited mobility. Courses are accessed via the Web, so wherever you can make a high speed internet connection, you can access your class and the many resources available to you as a student at a major university!

Online classes are engaging and convenient but they do require high levels of self-discipline and motivation. To ensure a successful online experience, it is essential to have regular, reliable, access to the appropriate computer equipment and a high speed internet connection. You must also have an active University of Memphis e-mail account.
