Fee Information

Please refer to the fee schedules for current information and tuition estimator.

Maintenance fees (i.e., tuition) are charged for each credit course offered by the University of Memphis. Online courses (sections M5x, R50, and U5x) have the same maintenance fees as on-campus course sections. However, these online course sections have different program fees than the on-campus courses. Additionally, students pay for the total number of hours in which they are enrolled, even when that exceeds 12 hours which is the current "cap" for tuition for on-campus courses.

To get complete information on payment of tuition and fees, please see the explanation of fees at http://bf.memphis.edu/finance/bursar/otherfees.php.

Out-of-state students: Effective Fall 2010, an eRate will be assessed for all out-of-state students who are enrolled solely in online courses for the semester that fees are incurred. This rate will consist of the in-state maintenance fees plus 50% of that maintenance fee. Students will not have to pay on-campus program or online course fees, but they will have to pay college- or program-specific fees as noted on the Bursar's fee charts. RODP program fees will be assessed in addition to the eRate.

In order to qualify for the eRate, an out-of-state student must be enrolled only in M5x, R5x, or U5x courses.

Please note: If the student enrolls in any on-campus courses, including 41x and 54x sections, the full out-of-state maintenance fees will be assessed for all course sections, whether they are online or on-campus.

Financial aid and military assistance can be applied to any online program.

RODP and UMOnline Program Fees (for M5x or U5x sections) are not covered by Graduate Assistantship fee waivers, PC-191, or Staff Scholarships.

RODP and UMOnline programs follow all University of Memphis guidelines and deadlines for fee payment. Be sure to consult with your financial aid counselor or scholarship administrator for more information.

Fees are subject to change without notice. The University will usually collect the amount of fees due at the time of fee satisfaction in accordance with the residency classification and fee rates in effect.
