The Department of History in the College of Arts and Sciences at The University of
Memphis is proud to offer the online Master of Arts in History. The degree requires a total of 33 credit hours (11 courses). University of Memphis
graduate faculty in History are recognized at the highest levels of the profession
for their innovative methodology, exhaustive research, and insightful writing. We
offer a wide of array of online courses on various areas and periods in American history,
and continue to add courses that focus on other regions including the Middle East
and Africa. Use your degree to prepare for a profession, enhance your teaching credentials,
or to satisfy your own love of history.
All courses used to fulfill the requirements for this degree program must be online
courses. Not all courses and not all fields of study listed in our graduate catalog
are available online. Up to 12 credit hours earned at another university may be applied to the degree. For more information about our graduate program and online MA, see the graduate section
