I registered for an RODP online course. What do I do now?

RODP online courses can be identified by their section, which is R50.  If you registered for an RODP online course, please read over the following steps to get prepared for class.

  1. Be sure your University of Memphis e-mail account is active well before the semester starts and watch for e-mails with important information about your RODP online class. If your account is not active, go to the myMemphis portal homepage at and click on the "Initialize Your Account" link or call 901-678-8888 for assistance.

  2. Order your books through the TBR Virtual Bookstore. Students are responsible for having their textbooks by their first assignment. Failure to obtain your book on time is not an acceptable excuse for missed assignments.

Don't forget to check our Successful Student Guide for tips on how to succeed in online courses.

Where do I go to class?

The University of Memphis RODP online courses are delivered through our "eLearn" website. We strongly recommend all new online students review the tutorials before the semester starts. You can learn more about it at our Student Services Tutorial web site.

Students enrolled for the spring semester will have access to their courses beginning Thursday, January 14th after 2:00pm. Beginning on that afternoon, go to elearn.rodp.org to form your user name and password and log-in to your RODP course. You will not have access to your class before 2:00pm on Thursday, January 14th, and your instructor will not send you an email with information.

If you have technical difficulties accessing your course (logging in, timing out, using your course tools) please call the AskRODP Help Desk at: Toll free number 1-866-550-7637 or go to their website at: askrodp.custhelp.com (NOTE: You must be a registered RODP student.)

My exams require a proctor.  How do I get one?

Some RODP courses require your midterm and final exam be given to you by a proctor. (Someone appointed to supervise students during exams.) Once you have logged in for the first time, your instructor will indicate in their syllabus if you will need to obtain a proctor.

If your exams require a proctor, first contact the designated proctor at your home institution. If the testing location of your home institution does not meet your needs, you may choose a different TBR institution from the proctor site list. For a list of all proctor locations go to this link: www.rodp.org/students/proctorsites.htm If you cannot find a suitable TBR institution, you may work with your instructor to find a proctor at some other location, such as at a public library or other non-TBR school or institution.

Instructions for requesting a proctor from the University of Memphis:  e-mail the following information to mewart@memphis.edu:

  • Name
