The School of Accountancy offers an online Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)
degree with a major in Accounting. It is hard to go wrong with a BBA in Accounting
degree; most of the jobs starting at senior accountant and higher require a college
accounting degree. The job market demand for well-trained accountants remains strong,
given the exciting move to global accounting standards.
With the ability to work in private, public or governmental accounting, our graduates
are:
- knowledgeable in accounting and its functional support of organizations,
- technologically competent,
- critical thinkers and problem solvers,
- effective communicators and team members, and
- aware of ethical ramifications and global business implications of decisions.
Core courses in the BBA in Accounting also provide a solid foundation for considering
the certified public accountants exam (CPA).
For more details, visit http://www.memphis.edu/accountancy/degree_programs.php
The BBA in Accounting also requires that all Fogelman College Business and Economics
BBA degree requirements be completed in addition to the courses required for the accounting
major. The student handbook is available at http://www.memphis.edu/fcbeugad/docs/Success_Guide_2010.pdf.
You may complete this degree entirely online, by combining online courses with courses
offered at the University of Memphis campus, or by combining University of Memphis
courses (online and on-campus) with a limited number of approved courses transferred
from other institutions (see our undergraduate catalog for more information). Out-of-state
students may be able to pay in-state tuition if they qualify.
