PHD Procedures (in order, links to information and forms)

  1. During your first semester, find a major advisor, and fill out the Committee Composition Form.
  2. Take the Qualifying Exam during your first three semesters.
  3. After your course work, take the Comprehensive Exam. You cannot register for Dissertation hours until this exam is passed.
  4. When filling out the PHD Candidacy Form, follow the instructions for admission to candidacy.
  5. Defend your Dissertation Proposal.
  6. Final Defense of your Dissertation

Students should submit both printed and electronic versions of forms to EECE office.

Dr. Chrysanthe Preza, Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, received a $743,781 National Science Foundation (NSF) Faculty Early Career Development Award for her research. The Career Award is the most prestigious award junior faculty members can receive from the NSF.
