Fall
semester begins next week, and with it come the trappings
of late August at the U of M. Football season kicks off Aug.
30 against Texas Tech at the Liberty Bowl, the fall Continuing
Education catalog is now available (visit http://www.coned.memphis.edu),
and various events are being planned on and off campus for
U of M alumni and friends. Whether you take an arts class
through Continuing Education, attend the Homecoming game,
or visit the campus to take in the new student plaza and fountain,
we hope you'll be a part of the U of M this fall.

Awards Banquets
 
Career
and Employment Services hosts its Corporate & Government
Career Fair on Wednesday, Sept. 24, to offer students
and alumni opportunities to discuss careers, jobs and other
employment issues with representatives from business and industry,
government, non-profit and health and human service organizations.
Alumni are encouraged to attend. The event will be held from
10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the University Center Ballroom. The cost
to employers for attending the fair is $225.
The
Graduate and Professional School Fair is set for Thursday,
Sept. 25. This event provides a forum for universities nationwide
to discuss their programs. The event will be held from 11
a.m. to 3 p.m. in the University Center Ballroom. The event
is free. Exhibit space for universities is $100.

Nashville Alumni Club will hold a watch party for the
Ole Miss game on Sept. 6, 2003, at 10:30 a.m. at Bailey's
Sports Grill, downtown on Broadway. Please contact the Office

The
Atlanta Alumni Club will hold a watch party for the
Ole Miss game on Sept. 6, 2003, at noon at Barnacle's on Tilly

The College of Arts & Sciences 2003 Outstanding Alumni Awards
Banquet honoring Tim Edgar Bolding and Roger L. Hiatt

Journalism Awards Banquet will also be held on Sept.
