Help Defeat Ole Miss: Give Blood Today

Blood Bowl logoThis year's rivalry between the University of Memphis and Ole Miss isn't only on the football field. A friendly competition between the schools will have the goal of increasing blood donations as the teams prepare for their Labor Day game.

Lifeblood is encouraging alumni chapters of the U of M and Ole Miss to donate blood on behalf of their universities. Faculty, staff and students also are invited to participate.

Donors should tell the Lifeblood staff they are giving on behalf of the University of Memphis. Lifeblood will track donations through Sept. 2, and you can keep track of which team is in the lead at http://www.lifeblood.org/events. The winning Alumni Association will be recognized during the Memphis-Ole Miss game Sept. 5.

Volunteers may also donate blood at any of Lifeblood's 12 regional centers or during any mobile blood drive that is open to the public. More information is available by phone at 901/529-6320 or on the Lifeblood Web site at http://www.lifeblood.org. Show your Tiger Pride and save lives at the same time!

The new U of M Web site is here! If you haven't seen it yet, we hope you'll visit the site soon: http://www.memphis.edu. In addition to a new look, here are some of the improvements made to the site:

  • A-to-Z list of University Web sites
  • Site search and people search on all U of M main pages
  • "Quick Links" feature, which offers convenient access to frequently used online resources
  • "Tiger Pride" feature displaying U of M points of pride

The new site, a joint effort of Web Services and Marketing & Communications, was a cross-campus effort involving over 40 faculty and staff members. In addition, faculty, staff, and student opinions were gathered and incorporated into the site at a series of open demonstrations in May.

We hope you'll find the site attractive and easy to use, and we welcome your feedback. Please visit http://www.memphis.edu/webfeedback to send comments and suggestions.
