Approaching

This issue
is the final edition of our E-Newsletter for the calendar
year 2002. We hope each of you enjoyed receiving it and have
found it beneficial in keeping up-to-date on developments
at your University.
As
2002 comes to a close and you prepare to review the year by
giving thought to charitable giving, please keep your alma
mater in mind. Contributions of any size can and do make a
difference to the legacy of learning that is The University
of Memphis.
Because
learning is forever, a gift to the University is one that
lasts forever. For those of you who have given, please accept
the University's sincere appreciation. For those of you who
have not, please consider doing so, if your personal situation
permits.
On
behalf of the Alumni Association and the entire University
of Memphis family, best wishes for the holiday season and
a very prosperous and joyous New Year.

Five individuals
will receive The University of Memphis Alumni Association's
highest honor this spring, the Distinguished Alumni Award.
The gala, scheduled for March 22, will honor Frank Flautt
(BS '63) and Allie Prescott (BA '69, JD '72) as Distinguished
Alumni; Gene Cashman as Distinguished Friend; and Eric
Jerome Dickey (BSET '83) and the late Christie Kelly
(BSEd '91) as Outstanding Young Alumni.
An
in-depth look at this year's winners will appear in the Winter
