A charter flight to and from Detroit is being offered by Bartlett Travel with refreshments provided by the Alumni Association. The cost is $465 per person roundtrip and includes the flight and transportation to and from the game. The flight departs Memphis International Airport at 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 26 (gameday) and returns directly after the game. The cost does not include game ticket. The Alumni Association and Tiger Scholarship Fund will host a pep rally on Dec. 26. Details will be available soon.

There's never been a better time to give to the University of Memphis. Donations to the University of Memphis Foundation made between Aug. 28 and Dec. 31, 2005 qualify for special tax treatment under the Katrina Emergency Tax Relief Act (KETRA).
KETRA created temporary tax incentives for gifts of cash to any public charity made between Aug. 28 and Dec. 31, 2005. This includes gifts to the University of Memphis Foundation. Through Dec. 31, 2005, individuals can make cash gifts to the University of Memphis Foundation and deduct those gifts up to 100 percent of their adjusted gross income rather than the usual 50 percent. Students planning to enter the U of M in Fall 2006 as first-time, incoming freshmen may apply for the Alumni Association Scholarship. The award is a four-year scholarship worth $1,000/year ($500/semester). Family of Alumni Association members who have paid their dues anytime within the calendar year prior to the application deadline are eligible.
The scholarship program encourages family of Alumni Association members to make the U of M their first choice for higher education.

The Boston Area Alumni Club will travel to Rhode Island on Dec. 10 for a pre-game party before the Tigers play Providence at the Dunkin' Donuts Center. The Nashville Alumni Club will gather one last time in 2005 to watch the Tigers give us an early present... a victory over the Ole Miss Rebels! The Alumni Association is seeking nominations for its 2006 Distinguished Alumni Awards. These awards honor alumni and friends who have brought honor and distinction to the U of M. Award winners are recognized at a black-tie gala held in their honor in the spring.
