The annual Homecoming parade will kick off the festivities on Friday, Oct. 20, starting at 5:30 p.m on the U of M campus. A pep rally will follow featuring special guest Tommy West. On game day, the Alumni Association will host a pre-game Barn Bash two hours prior to kick off. The bash will be held in the Silver Barn located on the west side of the Liberty Bowl near Gate 3.
Other alumni events include a Half-Century Club reception, game entertainment from the Mighty Old Sound of the South alumni marching band, fraternity receptions, step shows, and a closing brunch on Sunday. | High School Seniors, Parents Invited to Campus Day
High school seniors can find answers to their questions about college when the University of Memphis holds its annual Campus Day on Saturday, Oct. 7, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Campus Day is open to high school seniors and their parents. It is free, and lunch is provided.
Representatives from the University will be on hand to supply information about admissions, residence life, scholarships and financial aid, student organizations, academic programs, and student services. Guests also will have a chance to tour the campus.

The deadline for reservations is Sept. 30.
An official U of M license plate in the state of Mississippi may soon become a reality. Mississippi House Bill 468 regarding the tags will only be passed if 200 plates are pre-sold. This tag would be the first in Mississippi for an out-of-state university.
If you are a Mississippi resident and would like a University of Memphis plate, please place your order today. Please send a $51 check dated Oct. 15 payable to Mississippi State Tax Commission to Tiger Tags, PO Box 233, Nesbit, MS, 38651. Please include your name, phone, cell phone and e-mail address so you can be contacted when the tags are available. The Journalism Alumni Club will host its annual Outstanding Journalism Alumni Awards Dinner on Thursday, Oct. 19, at the Racquet Club of Memphis. Thornton Awards, and the charter class of the journalism department will be presented with the Herbert Lee Williams Award. The new Women in Engineering Living Community for female engineering majors is seeking volunteer mentors.
