English 3603 prepares students to communicate well at work. The course will help you
identify and analyze problems in the workplace and use communication to solve those
problems ethically and effectively. The communication skills learned in the course
can help students succeed in nearly any organization or career, including engineering.

Outcomes: Students completing ENGL 3603 successfully should be able to

analyze communication contexts rhetorically by understanding audiences, purposes,
and situations

create technical documents that solve problems and improve situations through communication

write effective technical prose

use visual design to create convincing and usable documents

analyze and apply the ethical responsibilities involved in technical communication

collaborate on communication projects
