Academic Summary

Tammy R. Jones teaches a variety of undergraduate courses in the Department of English and works with students from several different programs. She has taught both developmental as well as Honors sections, participates in the Fresh Connections Learning Communities, and serves as a Mentor for new teaching assistants in the First-Year Writing Program. As a result of nearly a decade of teaching in Belize, Central America, Ms. Jones is interested in intercultural communication; specifically, her research focuses on how discourse patterns are culturally constructed and how rhetorical elements influence learners in World English contexts. She won the Alumni Association's Distinguished Teaching Award in 2012.
