Faculty members at the University of Memphis have contributed to the discipline of engaged scholarship in multiple ways.  Engaged research produces a wide variety of scholarly products that reflect the diverse impacts made through community-based projects.  Much of this scholarship is interdisciplinary or multidisciplinary and represents the complex relationships developed during engaged research.

Partnerships Strengthen Communities

Many faculty members have received Strengthening Communities Initiative grants since the program began in 2008.

Written Documents include books or book chapters, journal articles, encyclopedia entries, newspaper and magazine articles, agency reports, research and technical reports, and policy briefings. 

Funding refers to grants and other forms of funding acquired by UM faculty for engaged research. 

Media includes web-based content, documentaries or other videos, archives, marketing or outreach campaigns, as well as museum exhibitions and catalogues.
