Engineering Technology Research

The Department of Engineering Technology often engages in applied research. This is done in conjunction with other departments, external companies and via the AutoID Lab. ET faculty members will also assist other research efforts within the Herff College.

  • Automatic Identification Lab - The AutoID Lab is dedicated to the education, research and technology transfer of all of the automatic identification and data collection (AIDC) technologies. As a vendor and technology agnostic lab, the AutoID Lab will help students and industry alike in the selection and integration of whatever technology is being used.

  • Center for Information Assurance -The Center for Information Assurance (CfIA) is a nationally-designated Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education and Research (CAE-CDE, CAE-R) by the NSA/DHS (National Security Agency/ Department of Homeland Security). Research areas include: Negative Authentication, Adaption Multi-Factor Authentication, Smart-Grid Security, Game Theory and Cyber Security (GTCS).
