About the Expert:
Dr. David Rosenthal is a Healthcare Informatician and an Associate Professor in the Division of Health Services and Systems Research in the School of Public Health at the University of Memphis. Dr. Rosenthal earned a Ph.D. in Technology Management from Indiana State University in 2002, and has over 20 years of information technology and healthcare industry experience. Prior to joining the faculty at the University of Memphis’ School of Public Health, Dr. Rosenthal served as the Director for Statewide e-Health Initiatives and Associate Professor of Health Informatics and Information Management at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. His research interests include the adoption and utilization of information technology at the point-of-care, and innovations in telemedicine and Telehealth technologies. Dr. Rosenthal also serves as the Chair of the Tennessee Health Information Technology Regional Extension Center’s Educational Technology Advisory Committee (ETAC), which has been established to develop the State of Tennessee’s health information technology workforce development plan as part of the HITECH Act’s Health Information Technology Extension Program.
