Dear Colleagues:
At the General Faculty Meeting in August, I reported on a series of
Faculty Senate initiatives supported by President Raines and Provost
Faudree to enhance the involvement of faculty in university decisions. One
of these initiatives was to provide all faculty with direct access to their
department budgets. Today, I am pleased to announced that this capability
is operational. Faculty can now view their department budgets online using
the Banner ePrint channel from
the Finance tab of the myMemphis portal.
To help you with this new budget access, the Office of Financial
Planning has developed instructions for how
to access the budget information as well as a reference guide that
explains the budget documents and the terms used in them. Special thanks
goes to Sharon Hayes, Director of Budgeting, and her Office of Financial
Planning for implementing this faculty access to department budgets and
creating the documentation for its use.
If you have questions about how
to access the ePrint channel not addressed by the online instructions,
please submit a helpdesk
request or call 678-8888 for assistance.
If you have questions about how to read the budget documents not answered
by the online reference guide, please consult this list of business officers
and refer your question to the business officer for your department.
Budget access privileges have been granted for all current faculty
members of university departments. New members entering a department can
obtain access by submitting a request using this form.
Suggestions for possible additions or improvements to this mechanism for
faculty access to department budgets should be sent to Deborah Becker,
Associate Director of Budgeting.
