FCBE Providing Statewide Industry Certification Program

The Fogelman College of Business & Economics has been selected by the Division of Career and Technical Education, Tennessee State Department of Education, to implement a statewide industry certification program for evaluating business technology instructors in secondary schools across the State.

Twenty testing events are scheduled at six sites during the 2007-08 academic year to verify that instructors meet industry certification standards that are set by national and global criteria. This grant-funded program serves as a model for determining the level of competency held by business technology instructors who provide instruction in software productivity instructional areas.

Dr. Lloyd Brooks (lbrooks@memphis.edu) from the Department of Management Information Systems serves as project director for this grant program.
