 CHAIR AND ASSOCIATE/FULL PROFESSOR
Department of Finance, Insurance, and Real Estate

Description
The Fogelman College of Business & Economics is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Chair, Department of Finance, Insurance, and Real Estate, effective fall semester 2015, pending availability of funding. The Department is an academically diverse, research-oriented group of 12 full-time faculty members and includes two Chairs of Excellence. The Chair provides academic and administrative leadership for all operations of the Department. Duties and responsibilities include faculty recruitment, development, and evaluation; curriculum development; promotion of academic programs and faculty research; course scheduling; planning and budgeting; faculty and staff supervision; guiding assessment and reaccreditation efforts, publishing discipline-relevant research, development of external relationships; and service on the College’s executive council.
 
Qualifications
Candidates should have a Ph.D. in finance or a related area; a record of effective teaching, scholarship, and professional accomplishment appropriate to appointment at a senior rank; the ability and commitment to publish in high-quality academic journals, administrative ability and experience; effective communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to provide leadership through collaboration with the faculty to advance the Department; and the capacity for effective interaction with the corporate community
 
Compensation
The Chair position is an academic-year appointment with additional compensation for summer responsibilities. The Chair teaches one course each semester and can teach one course in the summer. The position offers a competitive salary, administrative and secretarial support, funds for travel and professional expenses, and an attractive University benefits package.

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF ACCOUNTING

Description
The School of Accountancy in the Fogelman College of Business & Economics is seeking two  tenure-track Assistant Professors, effective fall semester 2015, pending available funding.  Responsibilities include effectively teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, developing a stream of quality research, participating in activities of the Department, and fulfilling professional and university service responsibilities.  The Department is an academically diverse, research-oriented group of 17 full-time faculty members.  The Department offers degree programs at all levels and is fully accredited by AACSB International.  For more information about the School and its programs, visit www.memphis.edu/accountancy.  

Qualifications
A Ph.D. in accounting from an AACSB-accredited institution is required (advanced ABDs may be considered if degree completion is imminent).  All candidates must have either education in, or experience working with, U.S. GAAP, tax law, and/or auditing standards. Teaching and research interests in all areas of accounting will be considered.  Effective college teaching experience and evidence of strong research potential are required for assistant professor.  Graduate teaching experience and professional certification (CPA preferred) are desired.

INSTRUCTOR OF SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT

Description
The Department of Marketing & Supply Chain Management in the Fogelman College of Business & Economics is seeking qualified applicants for a faculty position for the 2015-2016 academic year.  This is a nine-month, non tenure-track appointment.  Hiring is contingent on final budget approval.  The primary teaching responsibilities will include in-person and online sections of supply chain management and related courses, evaluating student learning, participating in related department activities, advising students, and complying with University policies and regulations.  Teaching assignments could include undergraduate and graduate instruction.  Instructors normally teach four 3-credit courses per semester.  The faculty member will be expected to work closely with the Memphis-area business community and play an active role in the development of the SCM program.   

Qualifications
A Ph.D. in supply chain management, logistics, or a related discipline from an AACSB-accredited school of business is strongly desired.  Candidates with master’s degree and significant related professional experience will be considered.  Successful college teaching experience is required and online teaching experience is desired.
