Prof. Janz Publishes a Study of Electronic Medical Records Usage by Nurses. Brings
Author and Disney Speakers to Campus
Electronic Medical Records in Nursing citation:
Hennington, A.H., Janz, B.D., Amis, J., and Nichols, E.L. (2009). "Understanding the
Multidimensionality of Information Systems Use: A Study of Nurses' Use of a Mandated
Electronic Medical Record System." Communications of the Association for Information Systems, 25.
Disney Speakers: In May, Dr. Brian Janz brought "cast members" from Walt Disney World's Disney Institute to the University
of Memphis to speak to over 200 members of the Memphis business community on how they
can enjoy the same levels of customer intimacy, employee loyalty, and innovation that
has made the Disney Corporation legendary for decades. In a separate program, Dr.
Janz arranged for the Disney Institute to present their secrets to world-class customer
service to over 150 employees of the University of Memphis.
Author on Campus: In June, Dr. Janz brought Emily Yellin, author of Your Call Is (Not That) Important to Us: Customer Service and What It Reveals About Our World and Our Lives to campus to present her findings related to best and worst practices related to
customer service. Again, well over 100 University of Memphis employees attended this
event.
