Judy Simon Provides Expert Commentary on Information Security Issues

Dr. Judy Simon, Professor of Management Information Systems, was interviewed for an article that appeared in the April 23, 2010, edition of the Memphis Business Journal.  The article, entitled "Business owners need to ask the right questions about virtual network security," focused on cloud computing security.   She discussed the importance of careful selection of vendors for cloud services, with several recommendations that included participation in seminars/webinars that are now widely available to assist businesses in making these decisions, as well as the need for development of a thorough set of questions to ask in researching the options that exist for a particular size and type of organization.

Dr. Simon was also interviewed for a news feature on security issues that have arisen related to online coupons that are available to download, some of which are scams that attempt to collect personal data.  The feature aired on the local ABC News television channel on May 5, 2010.
