Intern Keshav Simhadri Makes Major Impact at Wright Medical
The Fogelman College of Business and Economics' Internship program provides excellent
opportunities for students to synthesize the knowledge they have obtained in class
with real world experience. Undergraduate and graduate students are receiving useful
opportunities to advance their career prospects, while the companies involved are
often reaping major benefits from the students' work. Keshav Simhadri, a student in
the Customer Driven MBA Program, has made just such an impact as a Supply Chain Analyst
Intern with Wright Medical Technology in Arlington, TN.
Simhadri worked to improve Wright Medical's supply chain's efficiency by analyzing
operations and making strategic suggestions. "The actual business problems along with
the knowledge gained from the classes provided valuable experience in understanding
the business situations," Simhadri explains. Gary Henley, Wright Medical's President and CEO, believes Simhadri's high quality
work had a significant impact on the company's future. "As a result of his work and
suggested actions we have implemented a number of changes that will have a significant
impact, both in improved services to our customers and an annualized cost reduction
approaching $100k per year" Henley states.
