The Holiday Inn at the University of Memphis has earned the InterContinental Hotels
Group Torchbearer Award for the seventh consecutive year as one of the best Holiday
Inn hotels in the worldwide chain for achieving the highest levels of excellence in
all aspects of operation and customer satisfaction. In 2003, the hotel was also awarded the Newcomer of the year Award.
The Torchbearer Awards will be presented October 20, 2010 in Las Vegas, NV at a special
ceremony during the InterContinental Hotels Group Americas Investor and Leadership
Conference at which there will be over 4,000 owners, operators and corporate executives.
“We do not take this award for granted. Don’t get me wrong…we’re proud, but we know it’s earned little by little every single
day. Everything counts. I mean everything - every check-in, every meal, every maintenance
or upgrade project and every satisfied customer. Good economy or bad economy, everything counts,” says Tom Johnson, Managing Partner.
The Holiday Inn houses the FCBE’s Kemmons Wilson School of Hospitality and Resort
Management.
