AMIS Student Chapter Selected for National Award

The University of Memphis student chapter of the Associationfor Information Systems
has received the national organization’s 2011 Outstanding Student Chapter award. The
award will be presented at the International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS)
awards luncheon Dec. 5 in Shanghai, China.
The Outstanding Student Chapter award recognizes deserving student chapters that have
done well in the areas of professionaldevelopment, membership, careers in IS, community
service, fund raising andcommunications.
“Our department has a goal of excellence in all that we do,” said Dr. Lloyd Brooks,
Professor and Interim Chair of the Department of Management Information Systems. “Congratulations
to (MIS Instructor) Margaret Schultz and (MIS Assistant Professor) Tom Meservy for
the fine work that isbeing done to guide our AMIS chapter to the level needed to earn
this award.”
