PROFESSIONALISM FIRST! Program for Spring 2011 Semester

The Fogelman College of Business & Economics announces the start of the Spring, 2011
Professionalism First! program. The program is scheduled to start on Friday, February 25th and ends on April 8th. Two sessions (morning & afternoon) will be offered concurrently. Morning sessions will start at 10:00 a.m. and end at 11:00 a.m., while afternoon
sessions will start at 2:00 p.m. and end at 3:00 p.m. Students are encouraged to apply early as competition for spaces is expected to be

Professionalism First! is a free, non-credit professional development program designed to provide business
students with the personal and interpersonal skills needed to succeed in today’s dynamic
business world. The program is designed, developed and delivered by the Fogelman College of Business
in conjunction with its strategic partner, First Tennessee Bank. The program promotes life-long career readiness by providing a high quality professional
development program that teaches business students how to improve their professional
presence and image. This industry led program comprises five one hour modules: Professional Image; Professional Communication-part 1; Professional Communication-part 2; Interviewing; and Emotional Intelligence. Students enrolled in the program are assigned a First Tennessee Bank mentor who will
guide them along the path of professional development. The program is open to junior and senior business majors who are in good academic
standing. Students who successfully complete the program are awarded a certificate of completion.
