FCBE Professors Receive Best Paper Award

Fogelman College finance professors, Dr. Pankaj Jain and Dr. Thomas McInish, and recent Ph.D. graduate, Dr. Chinmay Jain, were recently honored by a prestigious academic journal, The Financial Review. Their paper “Short Selling: The Impact of SEC Rule 201 of 2010,” which was published last year, was named as one of the journal’s best published papers of 2012.
 
The paper was first nominated by a group of associate editors. Then, the journal’s editorial board members and subscribers voted to determine the final award recipients. The paper authored by Dr. C. Jain, Dr. P. Jain and Dr. McInish was ultimately selected based on its high-quality content and its instrumental effect of securing a large SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission) IPA (Inter government Personnel Agreement) Grant awarded to the University of Memphis.  

The professors will be recognized on the back cover of The Financial Review as authors of one of the best papers published in 2012. Additionally, they will receive a plaque and a monetary award.
