Dr. Rezaee, FCBE Professor and Thompson-Hill Chair of Excellence, Visits China

Dr. Zabihollah Rezaee, Thompson-Hill Chair of Excellence and Professor of Accountancy,
visited Hong Kong and the Mainland China this past December. During the visit, Dr.
Rezaee attended the 2012 Annual Conference on Global Economy, Business and Finance
in Hong Kong. He chaired a conference session and presented a paper titled Regulatory Reforms in the Aftermath of the 2007-2009 Global Financial Crisis and Their
Implications in Hong Kong. He also was invited by two renowned Chinese universities to host workshops for students
and faculty members.
Dr. Rezaee was invited by the School of Finance, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies
to conduct a workshop on “Corporate Governance, Professional Ethics and Business Sustainability.”
Guangdong University of Foreign Studies is a key university in South China renowned
for its distinctive internationalization feature. About two hundred students, both
undergraduate and graduate, and several faculty members attended the workshop.
Next, Dr. Rezaee was invited by the Division of Business and Management of United
International College in Zhuhai, China to give a one-day workshop for both senior
students and faculty members. The United International College is a joint establishment
of Beijing Normal University and Hong Kong Baptist University. During the morning
session, Dr. Rezaee discussed the “Emerging Issues in Corporate Governance, Professional
Ethics, Business Sustainability and Forensic Accounting;” in the afternoon session,
Dr. Rezaee mainly focused on the topic of “Research in Financial Reporting and Auditing.”
This trip was a valuable academic experience for Dr. Rezaee as well as for the students
and faculty involved with the workshops. The overall experience produced positive
results.
