SunTrust Bank fulfilled their commitment to the Fogelman College of Business and Economics
last week. In 2006, they committed to donating $1 million to the University of Memphis
in an effort to further its progressive and positive effects upon the Memphis community.
Of this total amount, Fogelman College received $750,000. The remaining $250,000 was
given to the Rudi Scheidt School of Music.
Fogelman College uses these funds for student scholarships and to sponsor the FCBE
Open House and community events. SunTrust also has played an integral role in the
MILE program, which stands for Memphis Institute of Leadership Education. Top SunTrust
executives have partnered with our highly motivated business students to share professional
insights and enhance students’ management skills through real-life experience.
“The Fogelman College is very fortunate to have a partner as committed to improving
our college and university as SunTrust Bank. They understand the value of education
and their continued generosity significantly impacts the lives of our young business
students, both personally and professionally,” said Adam Walker, Senior Director of
Development for Fogelman College. “We are extremely appreciative of their support.”
