The Fogelman College is justifiably proud of its Executive MBA (EMBA) program, which is the only AACSB-accredited EMBA program in the Memphis area. It has attracted high-powered rising executives and its graduates have gone on to make significant contributions to their companies. Even though we expect graduates of the EMBA program to do wonders and add significant value to their companies, in these trying times, seeing a tangible and immediate return on investment will go a long way in making the decision to sponsor EMBA students.
So, beginning with the Fall ‘09 EMBA cohort, we are instituting a requirement that all EMBA students work on a project that either saves their sponsoring companies at least $100,000. or adds a net margin to the tune of at least $100,000. This amount will more than compensate companies for the tuition and fees they pay for their employees’ EMBA program. The project can be done in any area, for example accounting, marketing, supply chain, logistics, new product development, etc., and at anytime in the EMBA program. Creativity and ideas can come in any course. The project will be supervised by an appropriate faculty member. Academic credit for the project course will be given.
