Students, faculty, and staff in the Fogelman College of Business & Economics will have new opportunities to be healthier with the launch of the Fogelman Fit wellness initiative. This program will be integrated into the existing activities of FCBE, emphasizing the importance of health to both personal and professional success. The goal is to create a culture of health in the College, and to make it easier to make healthy choices through onsite activities, education, environmental changes, and healthy opportunities.
Fogelman Fit was officially launched on September 22 in conjunction with the FCBE Open House and featured fitness demos, nutrition displays, challenge sign-ups, and giveaways. Over 100 people have signed up to participate so far.
Fogelman Fit is a coordinated effort to enhance student health and wellness supported by Fogelman College, the Department of Health and Sport Sciences, and other campus and professional organizations. The initiative will promote healthy eating and physical activity with an emphasis on small steps toward better health. Fogelman Fit will offer ongoing wellness activities and challenges throughout the semester, with prizes for participation. Fogelman Fit is coordinated by Dr. Heather Chambliss, a member of the Health Promotion faculty in the Department of Health and Sport Sciences. Dr. Chambliss is a Fellow in the American College of Sports Medicine and has been a collaborating scientist with The Cooper Institute in Dallas, Texas.
All FCBE students, faculty, and staff have been encouraged to participate. More information about the program, and how to join, is available on the dedicated facebook page. Interested participants can also sign up for our SparkTeam. You may also email us.
