Professionalism First! is a free, non-credit professional development program that
aims to provide business students with the personal and interpersonal skills they
need to succeed in today’s dynamic business world. The program was designed and is
delivered by the Fogelman College of Business & Economics in conjunction with its
strategic partner, First Tennessee Bank.
Professionalism First! promotes life-long career readiness by providing a high-quality
professional development program that teaches business students how to improve their
professional presence and image. This industry-led program comprises five one-hour
modules: Resume Writing, Interviewing, Networking, Career Strategy & Office Etiquette,
and Emotional Intelligence. Volunteer professionals from First Tennessee Bank assist
in delivery of the program, which is open to junior and senior business majors who
are in good academic standing.
Students who successfully complete the program are awarded a certificate from First
Tennessee Bank denoting completion of all five modules. The modules are taught at
the Kemmons Wilson School of Hospitality & Resort Management at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00
p.m. on Fridays during the fall and spring semesters.
