The Fogelman College of Business & Economics is the first postsecondary institution
in the Memphis region to deliver Toastmasters International’s time-tested programs
in oral communication and leadership to its students, faculty and staff. Since the
inception of Fogelman’s Toastermasters program, an unprecedented five Toastmasters
clubs have been formed within the college at both the graduate and undergraduate levels
by Dr. Kimberlee Keef. Other FCBE instructors have integrated Toastmasters’ powerful
program into their courses, as well, to help students become more polished public
speakers.
Thanks to the support of FCBE leaders, including Dean Rajiv Grover and Dr. Bob Taylor,
students and faculty have been able to quickly and effectively launch the clubs. The
program is so successful that the University of Memphis now boasts the most Toastmasters
International Clubs in one site in North America.
For more information, email Dr. Kimberlee Keef at kkeef@memphis.edu or Kathy Tuberville at kathy.tuberville@memphis.edu, or call 901-678-4740.
