Graduate Scholarships

The Fogelman College of Business & Economics has numerous scholarship opportunities available to our graduate students.

The following information pertains to private scholarships awarded only to students majoring in business. Students interested in applying for university-wide scholarships should contact the Scholarship Office at http://www.memphis.edu/financialaid/ or in person at 107 Wilder Tower.

  • Scholarship awardees will be notified by email on or before August 1st, 2013.

  • If you do not receive a scholarship the first time you apply, you are still encouraged to reapply the next year.

  • Awarding of any scholarship depends upon the availability of funds.

  • Assuming you meet the requirements you may apply for more than one scholarship.

  • Eligibility for needs based scholarships is determined by the information provided on the SAR (Student Aid Report). Obtain this form by completing the FAFSA (Free Application For Federal Student Aid - http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/).

  • DO NOT ATTACH a transcript, resume, reference letter, or any other supporting documentation unless additional information is requested in the scholarship criteria.

  • If you do not meet the requirements or fail to complete all sections of the application, you will be eliminated from the selection process.

  • Students should display a solid academic performance in their undergraduate courses.

  • We will accept either GMAT or GRE scores on scholarship applications.

Students can apply for scholarships starting January 6th 2014 using new FCBE electronic application.

Balton and Associates Scholarship

  • Must attain and maintain a 3.0 GPA

  • Must be enrolled as an Undergraduate or Graduate Accounting student

  • Financial need will be a consideration if equally qualified candidates apply

 Charles Griesbeck Scholarship

  • Full-time graduate student in Accounting

  • Minimum 3.5 GPA Cumulative GPA or higher

  • Student must exhibit leadership skills

  • Student must exhibit interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills

  • Financial need will be a consideration if equally qualified candidates apply

Dr. Gabriel P. Racz Leadership Fellowship

  • Full-time graduate student in Accounting with a 3.25 Cumulative GPA

  • Student must exhibit interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills

  • Financial need will be a consideration if equally qualified candidates apply

Kenneth and Janet Austin Accountancy Fellowship

  • Fulltime graduate student seeking an MS in Accounting

  • Minimum 3.25 GPA

R. B. Sweeney Graduate Fellowship

  • Fulltime graduate student seeking an MS in Accounting

  • Must have an undergraduate degree in Accounting or must be expecting to graduate with a degree in Accounting in May or August of the application year

  • Must have an undergraduate GPA of at least a 3.5 or a GMAT score of at least 600

 Stacey Steckler Sprinkle Scholarship

  • Fulltime or part-time, graduate or undergraduate student in Accounting

  • Minimum 2.5 GPA

  • Demonstrates a financial need

  • Preference given to students attending night class

Thompson Dunavant Scholarship

  • Rising senior or graduate student with a declared Accounting concentration

  • Must have a 3.4 cumulative GPA or higher

  • Demonstrates the potential to succeed in the accounting profession

Institute of Management Accountants Scholarship

  • Candidates must be an IMA student member pursuing study in accounting or finance

  • Applicants will be considered for the Memorial Education Fund Scholarship and the Stuart Cameron and Margaret McCloud Memorial Scholarship

Daniel B. Goldberg Scholarship/ Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada

  • Fulltime master’s students preparing for a career in state and local government finance

  • Must have a Baccalaureate degree or its equivalent

  • Must be a current or permanent resident of the United States or Canada

Frank L. Greathouse Governmental Accounting Scholarship/ Government Finance Officers Association

  • Awarded to exceptional full-time junior or senior students majoring in accounting

Ferris Hooshmand Scholarship Award Fund

  • Must earn a 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher during the first year of the program

  • Must demonstrate a positive attitude and enthusiasm for lifelong learning

  • Must demonstrate overcoming adversity in some point in their lives

  • Can be nominated by faculty member, classmate, or yourself

  • Junior or senior seeking a degree in International Business or an IMBA Graduate student

  • Must maintain a 2.75 cumulative GPA or higher

Sunshine Enterprise Scholars Fund

  • Fulltime graduate student in the IMBA Program

  • GMAT score of 630 or above

  • Must have a concentration in Real Estate or an allied discipline

Morgan Keegan Fund in Finance

  • Must have a concentration in Finance

  • Minimum of 3.0 GPA

  • Fulltime or part-time student

Trammell Crow Company Scholarship

  • A concentration in Real Estate Development is preferred

  • Full or part-time student, incoming or current undergraduate or graduate

  • Minimum of 3.25 GPA

  • Preference given to students who demonstrate a financial need

John A. Elkington Endowed Scholarship

  • Must have a concentration in Real Estate or allied disciplines

  • Enrolled fulltime as a junior, senior, or graduate student

  • Minimum of 3.0 GPA

  • Emphasis shall be placed on academic merit not financial need

Weston Companies Scholarship in Memory of Sherman Franklin

  • Must have a concentration in Real Estate

  • Fulltime student, sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate

  • Preference given to students in need of financial assistance

  • Academic ability will also be considered

Business and Economic Alumni Chapter Scholarship

  • Must be enrolled in graduate school at FCBE as a non-doctoral, non-IMBA, or non-EMBA student

  • Minimum 3.25 GPA

  • Financial need is considered

Papasan Family Endowed Scholarship

  • Declared undergraduate or graduate business student

  • Shall demonstrate a financial need as well as outstanding academic promise

  • Freshman shall have scored a 25 or higher on the ACT

  • Sophomores, juniors, seniors, and graduate students shall have maintained a 3.0 GPA

  • Preference will be given to a student whose parent, guardian, or grandparent is, or has been, an employee of Memphis Light Gas and Water.

SunTrust Graduate Business Scholarships

  • Master’s candidates enrolled in FCBE, having graduated in high standing with an undergraduate degree

  • Fulltime students, must maintain at least 12 graduate credit hours

  • Must maintain a 3.5 cumulative GPA

Barbara Tuckman Memorial Fellowship

  • Fulltime graduate student in Economics

  • Shall have demonstrated an interest in economics education

  • Minimum 3.5 GPA

  • Financial need is not considered

Humko Doctoral Fellowship

  • Shall be a Business Administration Doctoral student concentrating in Marketing

  • Shall be a third year doctoral student

  • Have successfully completed the general exam, passed the oral exam, and be considered all but dissertation

  • Shall have submitted dissertation proposal and have started work on it
