Internship Overview:
Paid internships are highly encouraged within the department.  Finance majors gain valuable work experience from internships and have the opportunity to network with business leaders working in their fields.

Internship Academic Requirements:
Requirements for internship course credit are as follows:
  • FCBE degree seeking student
  • Junior or Senior with at least a 2.75 GPA and 15 credit hours of upper division core classes OR-
  • Graduate student with at least a 3.0 GPA and 15 credit hours of coursework
  • Students must work 150 hours to receive credit
In addition to these requirements, Finance majors must have completed FIR 3410 with a minimum grade of a C. Sales majors are required to have an alternative GPA of 2.25 (not 2.75) and must have successfully completed MKTG 3410.
The course and the internship must be taken simultaneously. No credit can be given for past experience. Internship experience must be directly related to your major.

Congratulations of being offered an internship! Please follow the steps below to apply for academic credit.
Paper based application instructions:
Step 2: Bring to LaToya Chavers in FCB 114 to be qualified
Step 3: Fill out the Application
Step 4: Obtain Job Description and Job Offer Letter from Employer.
Step 5: Email the application with both the Job Description and Job Offer Letter attachments to LaToya Chavers with your name and Internship Academic Credit Application in the subject line

Career Development:
Students in the process of pursuing a BBA with a major in Finance are eligible to participate in the Futures in Finance program.  Futures in Finance is part of the Avron B.
