Dr. Heike Polster
Assistant Professor of German

Dr. Heike Polster received her Ph.D. from Washington University in St. Louis (2007). Her research area is Twentieth – Century German and Austrian literature and culture with a special interest in the philosophy of time and space.

Professor Polster teaches language and literature classes at all levels. Current Projects:

  • Polster is currently working on a book entitled "Heterochronic Visions", a project exploring interpretative tools for the purpose of creating a conceptual unity between temporally disjointed elements, in particular the methods of perception which might serve to locate the evocative potential of space.
  • "The Aesthetics of Passage: The Imag(in)ed Experience of Time in Thomas Lehr, W. G. Sebald, and Peter Handke." forthcoming from Königshausen & Neumann, Würzburg.
