Study Abroad Programs
There are numerous study abroad opportunities (summer, winter, semester-long, and
academic year) available to students. e.g., in San Jose (Costa Rica), Salamanca (Spain)
and the Instituto Tecnologico de Monterrey (México) to name just a few. Excellent
scholarship opportunities are available for qualified students.
The most popular site for month long summer or winter courses has been the University
of Costa Rica, San José (Costa Rica); for the past ten years University of Memphis
students have been accompanied by a faculty member for the courses in July, which
offer the most complete choice of undergraduate and graduate courses. Students can
obtain up to six credits in the four to five weeks programs.
Salamanca (Spain) is one of the oldest university towns in Europe. It has an acclaimed
"Plaza Mayor", a plethora of bridges, cathedrals, and buildings that are many centuries
old, and several universities. Our students attend classes at the Universidad Pontificia
de Salamanca, a small private university. The setting is spectacular, with wonderful
opportunities for travel to Segovia, Ávila, Madrid as well as other parts of Spain,
and -of course- the rest of Europe.
