Spring Fever
Wow! I can't believe how fast this semester has flown by so far. I know I have talked about this before, but I still can't believe that Spring Break is less than a week away. Believe me, I have been keeping busy with studying and National Student Exchange stuff. Of course, even when I am not in class or at work I always find something else to do. Also, I had the privilege of attending a luncheon meeting with Dr. Rosie Bingham, Meta Laabs, and other distinguished administrators and staff.
"5 more days 'til Spring Break!" states my dry erase board outside my door (not that I am counting down or anything). Yet, I have more than one reason to be excited about Spring Break. Of course, I look forward to rest, relaxation, and a break from school work (I do have two papers to occupy my "extra" time.), but I am truly excited about getting to go to my boyfriend Ben's bootcamp graduation. It's nice to have a whole week off that fell on the exact week. In high school we only got an "extended" weekend for Spring Break most of the time.
Before I can leave the campus, though, I have much to do. I just finished searching the library for resources for one of my paper and I will have to gather more resources for my other paper, and I have to do this because I know I won't have access to a library while I am on spring break. I still just learning the basics of the library, but with help from my English 1020 class I am being taught how to more effectively use my time while in the library. Also, if worse comes to worse I can always ask one of the library attendants who are more than happy to help. Papers aside, I have to decide this week where I want to attend during my National Student Exchange. I have to have a list of several colleges just in case I am not accepted to my first choice. Right now, my first choice is University of Manoa at Hawaii (such an obvious choice). Also, I am looking at The University of Guam and colleges in North Carolina.
I was invited by Meta Laabs to attend a luncheon with Dr. Rosie Bingham, other staff, faculty, and students. Sorry for not mentioning everyones' names because there was just a few too many names for me to remember. We discussed how, as students, we view the university and our experiences here. We were also asked what improvements we saw neccesary. There was a great deal of talk on updating or building a new University Center.
Well, back to the books. I have got alot of studying to do and some reading to catch up on. I will try to update the diary as soon as I return from Spring Break. Have a great week!

Here's my friend Kayla just being a kid at Wildside, where we help with middleschoolers.

My friend Monica and I stand outside of my dorm after my mini-Valentine's Day party.

It's kind of hard to read, but my door says "No Boys Allowed" during my Valentine's Day Party.

Getting in the theme of "love", I decorated my dorm door for the occasion. I am sure my fellow residents were glad when I took it down a week later.

My Aunt Arvella and Uncle Dick sent me this wonderful brownie cookie. It did say Happy Valentine's Day, but then a ravenous pack of college girls attacked and it was no more.

My boyfriend Ben sent me roses through his personal deliverer, his dad.

Okay, so maybe I beating this whole Valentine's Day thing to a pulp, but I wanted to take a close-up because these are my absolute fave tropicana roses. Pretty, huh?

Here's a picture I didn't even knew I took from McAlister's. My friends and I hang out here, and El Porton, a lot because it's just around the corner from the University.

This is Tonya and Toya, two new friends I met while on the retreat with Impact and Campus Crusade this past weekend.

Staci P. takes a break before heading back to campus to take a picture.
