So I've been in school a whole month. Weird.
And so far, so good. I have found that if I stay focused, there are few things i can't handle... and there's time left over to take much needed naps!
These past few weeks, I have had a killer geology test, a birthday, (I'm 19!!!) and my first experience with racketball.
The geology test was my first exam in college so far. It was pretty tough, and although I got pretty much what I had expected, it was not an outstanding score. But after taking a second look at the grading scale (totally different from that of the Memphis City School system), I was a lot happier with my grade, haha.
I had a great birthday this year, even though 19 seems sort of pointless. At the first dorm meeting, the RA had us fill out questionnaires concerning favorite song, candy, movie, drink, etc... and so when I got home from my classes on my birthday, I had a coke and Reece's Peanut Butter Cups waiting for me at my door. How nice! I spent the weekend with friends and family, eating lots of good food and being lavished with great gifts. My roommate gave me the most awesome bag, which has become an everyday clothing staple for me already!
Wow. Racketball. At first I had a horrible fear of getting hit in the head, but it's not so bad the fourth or fifth time it happens! It would have to be one of the best sports ever invented, although I am still not sure how, exactly, one should play. I just hit the ball around, and hope it hits the wall instead of a friend!
One of the most frustrating things I have encountered so far is geology lab. It seems that no matter where I sit, that particular station is missing three or four rocks, and all the rest have the wrong number, or none at all! My partner and I fumble through the exercises, and the lab instructor does his best to help us identify the rocks we have (and those we don't).
Ah, well, maybe next semester it will get all sorted out.
Time to catch up on Japanese and Logic homework!! Later!
