Still.... Working........ Hard............

It's been waaay too long since I have updated! I am already finished with two classes for the rest of the semester: geology lab, and the honors forum on world hunger. I think I probably could have done quite a bit better on the geo lab exam... I really should have studied more, and I dread getting my grade back in my e-mail any day now. I am going to miss my honors forum class as well, I feel that I have learned so much, and it has made me closely examine my life goals. I have always wanted to go to Africa and Southeast Asia, but now I feel that it is more of a calling than a simple wish. It is strange how an hour a week class can impact a person so heavily!

On November 10th, I registered for my classes, which is one of the benefits to being in the Honors Program. I was surprised that some of the classes I wanted had already been nearly filled! Luckily, I had not procrastinated about making appointments with my advisors, or else my spring schedule would be a mess. I am worried about some of my friends who still have not been able to get an appointment. Hopefully things will work out for them as well.

One of the most exciting things that has happened these past few weeks is the opening of the FedEx Institute of Technology on Nov. 19th. The building is incredible, and it is from one of the many comfy corners that I am writing this on my iBook. I don't know what I'd do without wireless Internet access now that I have become so dependant upon it... the summer is going to be difficult! Anyway... for anyone who hasn't stopped by to poke his nose in, you really should. The computers are amazing, the displays are fascinating, and there are lego robots. And a creepy talking head on the fourth floor. And as of now, it is a really quiet space too, save for the occasional hammering and drilling nearby.

Anyway, I think I'm going to catch up a little on some reading - it's so easy to slack off after midterms, even though it's hard to think about anything other than Thanksgiving right now. Friends are back in town, and all sorts of plans are being made. It's going to be an incredible weekend! Have fun, everyone.

Oh, and for information on the FedEx Institute, go to fedex.memphis.edu!
