Statistical Abstract of the United States -1878 to present Bureau of the Census Over 1400 tables and graphs of national and state data. It is a comprehensive summary
of the social, political, and social organizations of the U.S. Includes the Historical
Statistics of the U.S., Colonial Times to 1970. The latest print copy is located at the Research & Information Services desk. Older
editions are kept in the Government Publications department.

Census Bureau Web Site Megasite for Census publications. The site has contains the Decennial Census 1990
& 2000, American Community Survey, population projections, economic indicators such
as housing starts, manufacturing and trade inventories, and retail sales. Summaries
from the Census of Agriculture, Economic Census and Census of Government Press releases
and Census Bureau specialists' e-mail addresses as well as information on local offices.
American Factfinder U.S. Bureau of Census's interface for distributing the 1990 and 2000 Census of Population
& Housing, the Economic Census, and the American Community Survey.
Population Projections Census State and National
Census Data Locator:1990 University of Michigan Step-by-step guide to identifying variables, geography and corresponding print, CD-ROM,
magnetic tape or Internet source for 1990 Census data. Lists geographic terms, definitions
and provides 100% and sample data elements to help the user determine which summary
tape file is appropriate for their use.
Historic Census Information 1790-1860 University of Virginia The data here describe the people and economy of the United States between 1790 and
1860. Data are available for any county in most states during this time period. Great
searchable database.
Integrated Public Use Microdata Series University of Minnesota 1850-1990, large data sets which need SPS, SAS or Stata.
Regional Economic Information System Income, employment by industry and regional economic profiles, 1969-2005. Data is
for states, counties, and metropolitan areas. Census printed publications and CD-ROMS
are available in the Government Publications Department as well as tract and block
numbering areas. CD-ROMs provide faster retrieval time for census data as files are
extremely large for searching on the Internet.
County and City Data Book 2007 Data such as population, crime, education and housing for the largest 77 cities. A
print copy with more geographic coverage is located at the Research & Information
Services desk. Older editions kept in the Government Publications department.

Economics Statistics Briefing Room White House Current statistics from the government.
Bureau of Labor Statistics Current and historical economic data includes employment, productivity and prices.

County Business Patterns Bureau of the Census The Census Bureau site has 1993 - 1997 data to the 4 digit SIC code. Information includes
employment and payroll data for the U.S., states, and counties. The University of Virginia site has data from 1977 to 1995 by two-digit SIC codes. County Business Patterns,
1964 to 1995 is available in print in the Government Publications Department. Also
available on CD-ROM in the Government Publications Department
Current Industrial Reports Department of Commerce Production data for U.S. manufacturing industries. Data can be monthly, quarterly,
or annual. 1993 data to date. Printed reports until 1993, when the documents ceased
in print format, are available in the Government Publications Department.
U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics Press releases on employment, earnings, and collective bargaining. Time series usually
from the mid-80's and current monthly statistics on unemployment rate, prices, productivity
and earnings. Creates tables. State and local (MSA) data.

Publications Department and many other federal depository libraries. Includes access
to thousands of files covering trade statistics, overseas contacts, market research,
procurement information and more. The EBB provides data from the Federal Reserve as
well as economic data from the BEA and business information from the Department of
Commerce.
