The Graduate Non-Degree Classification is for students who wish to enroll in graduate
courses but who may not wish to pursue any graduate degree at the University. This
option is for transient students, students returning for educational workshops, and
students fulfilling professional requirements. Graduate non-degree applicants may
be asked to show proof of having earned a baccalaureate degree at any time. Please
refer to the Graduate Catalog for more information.
The following restrictions and conditions apply to non-degree students:
Departments may restrict non-degree students to designated courses only.
Graduate Non-Degree students who wish to matriculate for a degree must make application
to The Graduate School and the department and must meet all admissions requirements. Admissions is not guaranteed.
After acceptance into a degree program, the student must complete a minimum of 2/3
of the course credits required in that program regardless of the number of credits
completed as a non-degree student. Some departments count coursework toward a degree only after admission.
Non-degree students must maintain a 3.00 GPA. If a student's GPA falls below 3.00,
he/she will NOT be allowed to register for additional coursework without written approval
from the appropriate college director of graduate studies.
Non-degree students may not hold graduate assistantships.
I have read and fully understand all the above restrictions and conditions and agree
to abide by them.
